Business Development. Partnerships + Growth

We’re after a sales-motivated, people person, to help us expand our partnerships, and grow on an international scale. See requirements and qualifications below.

 

Role/Responsibilities

– Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and attendee satisfaction
– Present Startupfest, or other events and activities, to potential sponsors
– Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
– Contact potential sponsors
– Identify sponsor needs and suggest appropriate products/services
– Build long-term trusting relationships with sponsors
– Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
– Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities
– Prepare reports on project performance when necessary
– Conduct research to identify new markets and needs
– Prepare contracts and ensure that contract terms and conditions are met
– Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.
– Set sales and revenue targets and work diligently to meet them
– Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. marketing, logistics, senior management) to find new and creative ways to financially support the event.
 

Requirements

– Proven work experience in Business Development, Sales or similar role
– Large network of technology vendors and enthusiasts
– Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques
– Track record of achieving sales quotas
– Excellent communication and negotiation skills
– Ability to deliver engaging presentations
– Proficiency in MS Office and funnel management
– Understanding of sales performance metrics
– Market knowledge
– Self motivated and driven
– Strong problem-solving skills
– Ability to work well with a team
– Excellent verbal and written communications
